About the Council
North Northamptonshire Council is a brand-new unitary authority. Employing around 3,300 staff, the Council provides services to around 348,000 residents spread out across the towns and villages of North Northamptonshire’s beautiful rural landscape.
The creation of the new Council at the beginning of April this year provides an exciting opportunity to provide more efficient and effective services to our residents, businesses and local communities. We are absolutely determined to make the most of the situation.
Our primary goal is to put our residents right at the heart of our plans and provide services that make a positive difference to their lives in a way that they value. To do this, we are building an approach that ensures we engage meaningfully with our staff and members as well as our residents, partners and local businesses.
We are developing a culture that both supports staff and drives change, a culture that ensures we are self-aware, always learning, forever adapting and putting our residents at the centre of everything we do.
Following broad external stakeholder engagement, we are now embarking on the process of refining our values and behaviours will all our staff. These are based on the fundamental foundations of working together as one team, supporting one another, unbounded by structures and silo-thinking.
We are looking to build a culture that helps staff be their very best. A culture where staff trust and support one-another, where humility, pace and driving lasting improvement go hand-in-hand. An environment in which people get excited to work in; where staff are both confident and encouraged to develop new ideas and deliver creative solutions to some of the biggest issues facing the sector both today and in the future.
Our corporate leadership network, consisting of our CEO, Directors and Assistant Directors has been appointed using these values. We now have three Assistant Director vacancies left to recruit in order to complete the leadership team.
North Northamptonshire is rapidly evolving. Be part of something exciting. Help us build the Council of the future.
